Overview
I grew up in a very small town in central Illinois and was fortunate enough to attend the University of Illinois to study physics and astronomy, where I learned out how to apply my curiosity about the world and think like a scientist. I joined the University of Florida as a graduate student in 2018 and have been working with Dr. Desika Narayanan since then on various topics in galaxy evolution.

Research
My research interests can be broadly described as galaxy formation and evolution. I am interested in learning about the first dusty galaxies in the early Universe by modeling their formation in hydrodynamic simulations. I've also spent a lot of time thinking about how we measure galaxy properties via their spectra with spectral energy distribution (SED) modeling, with special focus on the assumptions we make about their stellar and dust properties.
