Welcome!
The Department of Astronomy at the University of Florida is home to a vibrant community actively engaged in research, education, and outreach. Our faculty lead a wide range of research programs using world-class resources including an in-house design-through-fabrication instrumentation program, partner level access to the Gran Telescope Canarias, the HiPerGator-3 supercomputer, and more. Our undergraduate and graduate programs host around 100 students who are split between our Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Graduate Program. Our outreach program includes highly popular weekly public observing nights and annual Starry Night events which allow us to reach tens of thousands of community members.
