Overview

I was born and raised in South Korea. I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in astronomy at Yonsei University in South Korea under the supervision of Prof. Taysun Kimm. I am interested in public outreach and have been participating in many activities such as writing articles for the astronomy magazine "Wouldyoulike" ("Wouldyou" sounds "woojoo" meaning the Universe in Korean), contributing to the production of the documentary film "Kiss the Universe" aired in Korean Broadcasting System, and giving a public lecture on Yonsei Observatory Youtube channel.

Education
  • M.Sc., Astronomy, Yonsei University, 2020
  • B.Sc., Astronomy, Yonsei University, 2018

Research

My previous work in my master's course at Yonsei University was to study how UV photons can escape from high-z galaxies in idealized galaxy simulations, which helps us understand how each galaxy contributes to reionization. Starting from this work, I expanded my research interests to several fields such as star formation, stellar feedback, ISM, and high-z galaxies. Currently, my research interest mainly lies in observational studies of star formation and stellar feedback.

Areas of Study
  • Star Formation
  • Radio Observation
  • Galaxy Formation & Evolution
