Research
I primarily work on nebular line emissions under Dr. Desika Narayanan. Over the years various diagnostic tools have been developed using the strong nebular line emission ratios like the BPT diagrams, metallicity calibrations and so on. These diagnostic tools have been calibrated for the local universe and there is ample evidence from simulations as well as observations to suggest that these empirical relations break down at high redshift. The main aim of my project is to recalibrate and model these diagnostic tools for high redshift galaxies. For doing this I make use of SIMBA cosmological simulations and the nebular emissions are calculated using powderday radiative transfer code that uses photoionization models from CLOUDY.Â
