Overview

I am originally from Stuart, Florida, but ventured out to California for my undergraduate degree. While attaining my degree in Astrophysics from Berkeley, I was also Captain of the competitive sailing team and spent my weekends traveling the state for competitions. In my free time, I enjoy sailing, hiking, mountain biking, and spending time outdoors, as well as speaking primarily in movie and TV show quotes.

Education
  • B.A. in Astrophysics, University of California, Berkeley, 2023

Research

I am interested in exoplanet detection and characterization, as well as mitigation of stellar activity. My previous work consisted primarily of stellar activity mitigation via high-resolution spectroscopy to improve atmospheric detections. My current work focuses on simulating which molecules would be detectable for a theoretical high-resolution, germanium grating spectrograph in space. I am exploring a variety of potential instrument configurations. The remainder of my thesis will be centered around detecting signs of dynamic cloud formation in the photometry of eccentric warm Jupiters.

Areas of Study
  • Detection and Characterization of Exoplanets, Stellar Activity Mitigation, High-Resolution Spectroscopy
