Overview
I am a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Florida working with Professor Rana Ezzeddine. I have completed my Ph.D. in 2020 from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore and my thesis title is 'Study of Milky Way Halo stars and connection to globular clusters'.
Education
- Ph.D., Astrophysics, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, 2020
Research
I am primarily interested in studying the low mass, long-lived stars in the Milky Way halo and other stellar systems like globular clusters and dwarf satellite galaxies with an emphasis on the origin and nature of their progenitors. They were formed early in the universe and hold the most important clues towards deciphering the nature of the first stars and astrophysical conditions that existed at the earliest epochs. My work involves an accurate determination of elemental abundances to study the nucleosynthesis events and obtain a glimpse of the chemical elements produced by the previous generations of stars.
