Areas of Specialty
Exoplanet & Brown Dwarf detection and characterization, Radial Velocity Data Analysis, Stellar transit simulation
I work with Dr. Jian Ge on multiple surveys in order to detect and characterize stellar companions including brown dwarfs and planets. This work addresses planet occurrence rates and their formation theories. I also work on methods to improve planet detection techniques including the development of a next generation wavelength calibration source for spectroscopy.
I was born and raised in Iowa. I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in 2013 with a double major in Physics and Astronomy and a minor in Mathematics. While attending Iowa I worked with Dr. Randall McEntaffer on X-ray astronomy and instrumentation focusing on supernova remnants. I also interned at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in 2011 working with Dr. Katja Pottschmidt on X-ray binary systems.
