Astronomy

Dr. Rebecca Pitts successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis entitled “On Dust, Carbon Monoxide, and Molecular Hydrogen in the Census of High- and Medium-Mass Stars.”  Dr. Pitts will continue her pioneering investigations into star formation and the interstellar medium through a postdoctoral fellowship at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen.  Congratulations to Dr. Pitts!

Dr. Nolan Grieves successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled “Characterizing Fundamental Properties of Stars and Investigating their Brown Dwarf and Planet Companions.”  Dr. Grieves will continue his field-leading work at the University of Geneva starting in the fall.  Congratulations to Dr. Grieves!
